Turrón, or almond and honey nougat, is a treat that everyone particularly enjoys during the Christmas season or throughout the year. Turrón originally comes from Jijona in the area of Alicante. It is a traditional treat made in a variety of flavors. Ingredients used include dried fruits, almonds, walnuts, candied pine nuts and honey. Mazapán is the traditional after dinner treat.
